I have been reading a lot online (although years old) regarding UNISA and the online programs. I am about to start an online MS in mathematics program from an online US university that is accredited with CHEA, which is a requirement for teaching at the community college level. However, UNISA does not appear to have any sort of US recognition or accreditation (correct me if I am wrong... And provide references!). Does anyone think or know if a community college would recognize a PhD from UNISA if I already have a masters from an accredited institution (for the pay scale purposes)? I am not looking into UNISA for any other reason than availability. I have not found ANY other online PhD in mathematics anywhere, and I am currently working full time in the engineering industry and will continue to do so as I pursue graduate degrees, so an on-campus program is just not feasible for me. ANY information regarding how the PhD programs at UNISA work, experience with having the degree or anyone you know that has one would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! Also, a PhD in Math Education is not really what I am looking for, looking for just straight math.
