    Hello,
I posted re above and that post is not published.
I would like to know more above institute. I came across while searching for a low tuition distance/online masters' programs.
According to Wikipedia, their MBA is ranked 16th in Europe. Tuition cost is 2520 sterling British Pounds and is a 12 month program.
I would appreciate any feedback on this institute.
    Thank you

The ranking is nonsense, but the school is real, and that does seem to be an actual subsidiary or affiliate of theirs that handles their distance learning. I'm not sure it's the school I'd pick, but it's not bogus.

I agree, Steve - it's not bogus. And that's refreshing, because I've seen quite a number of BVI schools that were either completely bogus, or issued degrees that were not worth anything - anywhere, no matter how much money and sincere effort it took to earn one. Cyprus hasn't been altogether free of fraud-or-deficient schools either, but then, what country has?

Steve may disagree ( I think he did, once before) but I think the frequency of low-or-non-value schools established by offshore operators in BVI has a lot to do with lack of oversight/enforcement and the ease and low cost of establishing an offshore-owned school via an "IBC" or some other fairly inexpensive legal device.

This school is not bogus - but it's not mainstream either . So how well-recognized are its degrees? Its International partner, SABI, has been discussed before. Another perfectly legal, but non-mainstream school. From the Wiki, I gather CIM has forged some good connections with certain British Universities and represents them, including a couple of undergrad programs taught in Cyprus.

If you like this school - fine. Just make sure before you sign that a degree from there will get you where you want to go. I'm not saying it won't - just that you should make sure first.

More like I don't think this affiliate is actually in BVI, I think it's just incorporated there for tax purposes. It's common in Commonwealth countries to include the name of the country of incorporation when referring to a company, e.g., "Acme Enterprises (Dominica), Ltd."

So in other words, this isn't a BVI school. It's the same as with mills that incorporate there and falsely claim to be there -- they're no more in BVI than Microsoft is in Delaware.

Agreed. The school is incorporated in BVI, but actually in Cyprus. Different to mills that claim to be in BVI and aren't - or don't say where they are. CIM is different. This is a legit BVI-registered school. As I said, refreshing.

I note CIM has fairly low fees and that's probably of interest to the original poster. Might I suggest another possibility, with good Commonwealth-orbit recognition and even lower tuition? I'm indebted to our long-time Indian higher education expert, msganti, for this one: Post Graduate Programs | DBU Global

Don Bosco University is run by a Roman Catholic religious order and has full mainstream Indian recognition - UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE. It teaches several business-related Master's programs online. I believe fees for a complete Master's degree start around $2,200 US for students not in India - that's around 1,337 British pounds!

It's certainly unusual. It would be moreso if it were actually located in BVI in any way, rather than merely incorporated there, but at least it disproves the nonsense notion that schools incorporating for tax advantage is inherently sketchy, and that is refreshing!

If you're in Cyprus, it's smart, not sketchy, to incorporate - and bank - somewhere else. A few months ago, near-bankrupt Cyprus was prepared to raise cash by giving bank accounts of any significant size about a 40% involuntary "haircut." A lot of Russian and other foreign businesses banking in Cyprus were very twitchy about that. It never came to pass, but who knows what the future holds?

Thanks for all your postings. I am not after degree mill. I don't think that CIM (BVI) is a degree Mill. Based on what I read CIM MBA is ranked 25 by CEO magazine? is listed in International university Association on UNESCO
What I after is to complete a distance master's program via distance or online at relatively low cost possible.
I have looked at South African option, not really keen on UNISA. Couldn't find other good options as I am base in New Zealand. Don't wish to earn a degree from NZ as I have an undergrads from here.
My budget would be 12K USA. Don't wish to consider DETC schools. Admission wise, needs to flexible or open entry, etc ,etc.
    Thank you
