    Hi all

I found this: Arab Women University and thinking of enrolling to this online university, but do you folks think it is accredited by real accreditation agencies as I cannot find anything when googling about this university. I wan to hear your opinion about this university and if it is worth spending money on!

Good Morning, I like what I read about accepting all transfer credits but am going to have a reference librarian as well as the local senators office help me see if this is legit. Hille

It is straight out a degree mill institution, if you look closely all the Accredit Agencies AWU claims are fake. I love how it compare the tuition with regional accredited institutions' tuition. It is better, spend a little money to get real degree instead ~ $22K for a worthless piece of paper.

    Here's a tip:

Before you start checking out a school's accreditation, there is an even more fundamental question that you might want to ask.
Does the school have legal authorization to issue degrees in its country or state ?

Of course, to answer this question, you need to know what country or state the school is based in.
So see if you can figure this out for Arab Women University.

AWU doesn't have a mailing address. They can only be contacted by phone or email.
AWU's phone number is a generic "800" number, with no country code or area code.
AWU's website has a generic ".com" address. If you try to look up the ownership, you'll find that it is hidden through a proxy service.

So we literally do not know where in the world AWU is located.
So we do not know if they have legal authorization to issue degrees from any government anywhere.
If there are any problems with this school, we do not know who oversees them.

Should we send this school tens of thousands of dollars?

    meeeh ..
i wrote a long post but then couldn't post try. let's try again.
ok i am supposedly a student at AWU but haven't paid the tuition and i doubt i will . I am not a spontaneous person but don't know what happened there.

    1) The uni claims they are members of the AAACE which the latter denies. when i asked the adviser, she said it was a misunderstanding and shouldn't worry about . i checked today but the logo was removed from the uni website

    2) for PhD students: they are assigned a research topic /theses by the the department or instructor. i requested to contact the instructor of the specific department to see if their research topics interest me but my request was refused .

    3) I had paid the application fee ( i know!!) and on the credit card statement , there appears another name (not the Arab Women University ) . Again, i am told this is nothing and i shouldn't worry

yesterday, i contacted the uni and asked them to get me in touch with someone other than the current adviser. They told me to write to them my inquiries. let's see what their reply will be.
