I am enrolling in WGU's M.Ed. in Instructional Design with a start date of Feb 1st or March 1st. I have been seeing that some people start courses before they officially begin. How do they do this? I do not see a syllabus or any information out their specifically about assignments each class requires. The only information I can get is what books are used and whether it is an exam or assessment.
Denaelesmom: I'll preface this with a disclaimer: it's always best to speak to your mentor about this, as he or she would provide better information. I'm not referring to your assigned mentor who follows you throughout the program, but your program mentors, who work in your area of expertise, they might know the answer to this question. Once logged in to the student portal, you can occasionally find a preview of the taskstream assignments within the course information somewhere. I forgot the exact location, but it can be found in there sometimes. It won't necessarily be the "exact" assignment, because they get updated from time to time, and the assignment as posted in Taskstream would be authoritative. Still, you sometimes can see what the assigned readings are, as well as what the focus points are. If you check out this forum, they might have better information on this topic for you: WGU Students Also, don't hesitate to jump on LinkedIn, and join the WGU groups there. Hope this helps!
