    Hi All,
I have a lot of life and work experience and want to expedite getting my BA degree. Does anyone have info of any success transfering a diploma mill degree to an RA school like Excelsior?
Do you think it would work?
    Why or why not?

    Thanks for your insight.

If there was true knowledge learned from the diploma mill school you can use that knowledge to CLEP out of a degree.

There actually one person that did a bachelors in a diploma mill (if my memory serves me right, please old timers correct me if I am wrong) and then went on to do a master in accredited program. Now, I do not remember the person name but he did post his experience here, then he indicated that to correct the mischief, went to do a bachelors from an accredited school.

Did the graduate school not care or just not do the research? I think the Big 3 are very thorough and experienced at checking accreditation. I know TESC definitely checks to see if the school was regionally accredited during the time the applicant attended.

What does the Big 3 have to do with anything? It would have been more likely to be a low profile school, rather than a school that is so involved with transfer credit/transfers.

The OP is asking about transferring from a diploma mill to a Big 3 school. Duh!

Duh is right, it makes sense when I re-read it. I misunderstood and thought you were implying that it had slipped past one of them in that instance.

Degree mills will not transfer but you can test out many courses at Excelsior. Work experience might work if you document it with a portfolio.

Some certifications in IT might transfer as well. Do you speak foreign languages? This can also help to get a degree faster.

Check the BA in 4 weeks site below:

If you truly know your subject, you should be able to get your degree in less than a year by testing out most subjects.

That website is really out of date. There have been a lot of major changes. This wiki is constantly updated along with its corresponding forum. You just have to ignore some of the old degree plans. My test out plans are constantly updated.
