    Hi everyone,

I have been in the shadows of this site for a long time, and wish I had found it years earlier. I started my undergraduate degree years ago and it is going to be conferred in a few weeks from charter oak state college. I have a bachelors in liberal studies with the majority of my credits in business, psychology, and criminal justice. These are all fields that I am interested in and some of them would have been useful in one career that I wanted to do government wise. I want to be able to work from home maybe with some travel or on assignment basis like an independent contractor. The next desired career would be teaching either in k-12 or corporate training. I was looking at the WGU M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, but apparently some things have changed. When I first inquired about it I qualified, but then now you have to be a licensed teacher and have access to a classroom. They also offer M.Ed. in Instructional design which is what I was told from the start I wouldn't be able to get because of licensing and such. I also plan to get a MBA. I am looking for something inexpensive as I already have a lot of debt. I am also looking for something fast (even if it is not easy) to make up some of the time I have already lost.

I am starting to get overwhelmed and I don't want to make the same mistakes I did fiddling around the first time. I am just looking for advice on school options, coursework options (thesis only), and job outlook from personal experiences. I am really interest in true work at your own pace schools where as soon as I finish one class I'll move into the next. I have had my mind set for so long on M.Ed in C&I, and MBA with versatility that will allow me avenues in business and education that I haven't thought about much else. Help me!

    Thank-you

If you're going to teach K-12, you're going to need to be licensed for most jobs. You'll also need to pass a Praxis or similar test in a subject that is taught in K-12. WGU has master's and post-baccalaureate programs that lead to licensure, but your state more than likely has alternative teacher certification programs.
Become A Teacher Online with WGU. Non Profit. Accredited

WGU and Patten University offer self-paced, MBA programs that are relatively inexpensive and regionally accredited.
