Are there any other schools other than Bellevue University that would accept my AAS degree as a whole satisfying all core requirements? I've haven't been too impressed with Bellevue so far and am looking to see if there are other schools that would accept my AAS degree (in Health Information Technology) so I don't have to spend a lot of time doing general ed classes. I'm specifically looking for a bachelor's program in business admin.
    Thanks

What school is the AAS from? What state are you in?

The Big 3 will generally take A LOT OF CREDIT, so you might find excellent transfer at TESC, COSC, or EC. Other than that I would look at the articulation agreements your school has for an advanced degree. The General Eds may or may not be complete (probably not) by your ASS course work. Gen Eds are designed to demonstrate core competencies that your typical AAS just doesn't cover as a rule.

I'm in Montana and the degree is from a regionally accredited community college in Montana. Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the big 3 - TESC, COCS, EC?
    Thanks for your reply!

Many schools, especially the Big 3, are likely to take all the credit, but it is unusual for the general education courses for an AAS to cover all the general education requirement for a Bachelor's degree. Most of the courses for an AAS would fit into your major or failing that into electives. So you might have to take courses outside of your preferred area, but you won't have to take more courses overall.

Gee, I was just wondering what ASS course work involves.

AAS is from Montana State University Great Falls, as I'm in Montana. It is a regionally accredited school.

I think there are a number of schools that will accept all the credit in the AAS, but Bellevue is the only one I know of that will accept it as meeting all of the general ed/core requirements. The only exception might be Bible/Theology schools that sometimes recognize any associate level degree as meeting all core requirements.

Do schools that accept AAS degrees in complete fulfillment of lower division credits apply it only to BAS degrees -- or to BA and BS degrees too? It would seem that an AAS (in whole) could only fulfill BAS requirements.

Here's links to each of the "Big 3": Charter Oak, TESC, Excelsior College. Three well-established and respected online schools.

I can't say what any other school does, but Bellevue will accept an associate degree, including the AAS, as meeting all of their general ed and other core requirements. You are then free to enter any BA or BS offering they have. All you would have to take to graduate with the BA or BS would be all courses in the major (usually 36 hours), the 9-hour Kirkpatrick Series, and open electives. FEMA credit can be used toward the electives.

Thanks for all the replies. I have decided to go with Bellevue as they accepted my AAS degree as a whole, which leaves me with just 45 credits to finish my BS in business. I can finish in 18 months, or maybe less, which is a huge bonus.
    Thanks all

45 credits PLUS your open electives, right? Don't forget to use the FEMA credits to your advantage. They're a huge time and money saver.

I've been accepted into the accelerated program, so I believe I have just the 45 credits. On my evaluation it says, "electives to be completed: 0."

You might want to look into that to be sure. To the best of my knowledge, all of Bellevue's BA and BS degrees, accelerated or otherwise, require 127 hours total hours. They are accepting your AAS in full, but your AAS plus 45 credits will not equal 127.

WGU might take an AAS whole-- I think it depends on the program, but you might be able to apply an AAS against three years' coursework.

Bellevue does require 127 credits for graduation, including the Kirkpatrick series. They took my 96 semester hours and admitted me as a junior with my AAS, and I completed with them in 12 months exactly. They were extraordinarily generous with transfer credit, and the degree has served me quite well for almost a decade now.

I forgot to say that I also have 32 credits from another university transfer over and Bellevue accepted all those credits as well. So, in total they accepted 96 credits of mine in transfer. I do have just the 45 credits left to finish at Bellevue for the bachelors. yay!

That's great! You'll love it, though it will be a grind at times. I thoroughly enjoyed earning the BA and MS at Bellevue. They have been consistently ranked in the top 10 for student engagement in online degrees (undergraduate level). To me, that is an extremely important index. If a student is not being engaged and challenged to think, he should save the cost of tuition and just buy a few text books from the local library.
