Does someone have experience with athabascau credit transfer policies and response time?
I tried to contact via email incl. my details both in brief and also a detailled info, but no reply yet after 2 weeks. Is this usual or something's wrong/slow there?

I will suggest using the telephone. The people on the otherside are very helpful.

Many schools, especially large schools, do not want to spend time (time = money) answering questions from casual (non)applicants. When you pay an application fee one of the things that you're paying for is to have a salaried staff person sit on the phone and answer your questions. Based on what I know of Athabasca, most of the information you want is already posted on their website.

Athabasca university only accepts credits from regionally accredited colleges. No national credits or ACE approved CLEP tests or DSST exams, etc. They also are very nasty and rude. At least that was my experience with this school.

@anngriffin777: Do you recommend an great alternative where transfer policies are more friendly. The courses and 100% remote exams and also prior learning is managed well there. The only unclear question for my case, is the number of accepted credits to transfer from my ECTS from Europe university. <- The degree was almost completed in Europe already. So this is key criterion for finalizing the degree now at another college.

@Kizmet: The information is not very precise or "binding" at their website. Credit transfer is up to the final decision. Can be yes or no to all my existing credits. There is no clear wording or "promise" for accepting any credit. That's why I am not going to enrol before knowing what I get, of course. Maybe there is a fee for the pre-check? Only worth, if this is binding afterwards and not just anyone's opinion.

Is this procedure with all the (distance learning) colleges as intransparent as with this university?
