    Hey All! :wavey:

    Quick background:
I decided the other day that it'll probably serve me best if I finally just bite the bullet and get my undergrad degrees. I just couldn't accept that your traditional 4 years of schooling and $40k+ in debt was the only option for someone seeking their undergraduate degrees; so I started researching. Lurking around here (great resource by the way! Thank you all!) and other sites I've learned quite a bit about the whole "Credit by Exam" process and the "Big 3" schools. Long story short: I decided on Excelsior, for many reasons, though largely because I learned they are a partner with my employer, which awards me discounted rates!

    My problem/question:
I applied a few days ago, but it looks like they take up to 3 weeks to evaluate everything. I'm trying to get started ASAP, so not looking to wait that long to get the information I need to start. They also seem extremely slow in responding. I've emailed them a few times and it's days before I hear back. So I'm hoping someone here can help.

My ultimate goal is to get my BS in Business, but as I like breaking goals into smaller chunks, I'm focused on the AS requirements right now. Using Excelsior's site, BAin4Weeks, this forum, and a few other resources I believe I've mapped out the requirements and what Exams will be able to fill them.

This is what I got: :feedback:

Requirement (Req Credit) ----- Exam/Class (Earned Credit)

    Written English Req (3 C) --- Uexcel -ENGx111 (3 C)
    Humanities (6 C) --- CLEP - Humanities (6 C)
    Social Sciences/History (12 C) --- CLEP - Social Science/History (6 C)
    ........................................ --- CLEP - MicroEcon (3 C)
    ........................................ --- CLEP - MacroEcon (3 C)
    ........................................ --- CLEP - Intro Psychology (3 C)
    Natural Sciences/Math (9 C) --- CLEP - Natural Sciences (6 C)
    ...................................... --- CLEP - College Algebra (3 C)
    ...................................... --- DSST - Principles of Statistics (3 C)

    Financial Accounting (3 C) --- CLEP - Financial Accounting (3 C)
    Managerial Accounting (3 C) --- Uexcel - Managerial Accounting (3 C)
    Intro to Business Law (3 C) --- CLEP - Intro Business Law (3 C)
    Computers (3 C) --- DSST - Intro to Computing (3 C)
    Principles of Management (3 C) --- CLEP - Principles of Management (3 C)
    Principles of Marketing (3 C) --- CLEP - Principles of Marketing (3 C)
Business Elective --- DSST - Principles of Supervision (3 C)

    Business Capstone (3 C) --- Excelsior Required Class (3 C)
    Info Literacy (1 C) --- Excelsior Required Class (1 C)

I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could look this plan over and let me know if it seems plausible. If you don't see any reason this wouldn't work let me know! Or if you see an Exam that you doubt will fulfill the requirement I have it listed for, that feedback is definitely appreciated too! And believe me, I completely understand that you guys aren't Excelsior Admissions and you can't guarantee what I'm proposing will work without any hiccups. You all just seem pretty knowledgeable, and I'm pretty confident that if something is blatantly wrong someone here will spot it.

    Thanks everyone! :You_Rock_Emoticon:

Looks like a plan so far. It is easiest to start with the basic tests (English, history, SS, math, etc.) if you know you have not met those requirements. That will take you a few weeks and by then should have the eval back.

I agree with Randell. If you've decided to go the testing route then just start. On a certain level it doesn't really matter where you start. I'd suggest that you start with a course that you think you'll enjoy. It'll be easier and will help to build confidence.

Thanks Guys! I guess the simplest answer is usually the best. Admittedly I'm a bit of a "wheel-turner"; over analyzing some things to a fault. I'll heed your advice and start plugging forward on the basics. I guess I was a bit weary of making a mistake that would cost me valuable time and money.

I think I was so caught up in the "What if this isn't the Right Exam" mindset. I didn't bother to realize that these lower credit exams are so fundamental that they'll likely apply to my degree in some fashion - even if not in the direct application I originally intended. Thanks for the to-the-point answers Randell and Kizmet!
