    Hi,

I have earned a BA in Biblical Studies at Southeastern Baptist Seminary. After doing 18 credit hrs. in their MDiv, I found it very repetitive of the work I had done in my Undergrad. As a result, in order to do more research and writing (my passions), I then earned an MTh in Systematic Theology from UNISA. I now want to do PhD work; however, I am finding that the few schools I have looked into will award me some Systematic Theology credits for my work at UNISA, but then want me to take a bunch of leveling courses (some up to 30 credits!). Do you know of any schools that would recognize that I am proficient at things like OT & NT Survey, Hermeneutics, Greek, Baptist History, Church History, etc. because I earned all "A's" on my Undergrad and won't make me rerun these courses again? Are there any reputable schools that would recognize that since I have a BA in Biblical Studies (which, as I said, I earned all high marks) and graduated "with distinction" from UNISA, I can now be accepted in a doctoral program with the assumption that I am competent for the academic challenges? Thanks for any input.

The obvious first choice is UNISA. Have you ruled them out?

No, I haven't ruled out UNISA; however, I figured that getting a PhD at a different school would look better on a CV when looking for teaching positions.

I think you might be well advised to look at the number of people who have graduated with a Disertation PhD who have teaching positions at a U S school. You might then contact them and ask for the benefit of their experience.

I know that what I'm about to tell you is not exactly what you want to hear but the fact is that no one can answer the question that you've asked. What you've asked is this:

"Of all the universities in the world, please provide me with a list of all that would accept me as a doctoral candidate."

No one could ever answer that question with any authority. Choose your favorites and then apply. Best of luck.
