Hello, Looking for a solid list or suggestion of colleges that are giving Hurricane Sandy students some tuition relief. I found that Harcum did but it looks like that option closed up. This question is for dl and on campus options. Thanks. Hille

I know that this is probably a silly question but what is your definition of a "Hurricane Sandy student?" and why would some other school give them relief? It's not that I don't understand the general concept but I'm unsure where the lines are drawn. If I was in college in Oklahoma during Sandy does that qualify me? To me it's really unclear what you're seeking.

A lot of schools took students from the New Orleans area after Hurricane Katrina. The students were allowed to pay the tuition rate of their home institution if it was less, but typically the student was only allowed to attend the hosting school for a semester or year. A friend's little brother was at Tulane when the hurricane hit, attended UPenn after the storm. He wanted to transfer to Penn full-time but they wouldn't allow it. He returned to Tulane the following fall.
I don't think any school would provide a student with "tuition relief" unless they were attending a school in the affected area, or at the very least where from an area that was severely impacted.

Good Morning, Many people lost homes and businesses during Super Storm Sandy in New Jersey. Harcum previously gave students who lived in certain counties in New Jersey room and board free. These are the students I am referring to. Thanks. Hille
