    Hi everyone,

This forum has helped me out immensely in the past! Thanks to you guys I went from high school drop out to junior college student... I have approx. 50 credits completed.

I would like to transfer into an undergrad program with what I have done. I'm running into some BIG hurdles though. Here are my issues:

    - I need a public, regionally accredited school that has real-world presence. I hope this doesn't offend anybody but schools like Charter Oak don't fit my needs.

-I'm looking for a humanities degree. Lib arts/general studies would be ideal, but if not I am looking for sociology, art, comm, history, child dev etc. You get the idea.

-No proctor. Not for anything shady(!) but I'm traveling a lot and it's simply not doable. I have no idea where I will be in 3 months. I need a school that accepts something like respondus/exam-guard-- apparently it locks down the browser.

-I don't quite have all my general ed classes complete, particularly math/speech. The new school has to offer those.

-$250 a cr hr or less would be ideal. I definitely can't go over $300 cr hr.

Peru State College seems perfect in almost every way, but they offer a very limited selection degree-wise. Apparently they used to offer lib arts, but that's gone now? I only see business, criminal justice, and psychology. Is anyone familiar enough to know?

I read on here that Chadron State College uses examguard, can any current students confirm if that's true?

Also, a traditional schedule is fine. My cc follows the normal fall/spring schedule.

Whew. So yes, if anyone knows anything I would appreciate it *so* much. I feel like I've exhausted all the info I can find!

Sorry to post again but I didn't see how to edit the thread.

I've also been looking at Fort Hays for the general studies bachelor. I would have most of the core classes done, leaving the 'concentration'/major classes. If anyone has done that degree, how often was getting a proctor necessary? I MIGHT be able to do it for a few classes if I have to.

Not sure about humanities, but Columbia College of Missouri has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology one can do online, and their tuition rate is $245 per semester-hour.

And don't worry, I'm a Charter Oak grad and I'm on their Alumni Association board, and even I don't think that the school is right for everyone!

I started at Fort Hays in the BGS with a concentration in Mechanical and Electrical Technology through the Navy College program. I took 18-hours with FHSU, non proctored. I know math and lit proctored, and I'm sure there are more.

The BGS at FHSU a great deal. I decided to finish my degree with Liberty because it was faster, but I'm going back to FHSU in the spring to take a class.

Thank you so much for that tip :) I didn't know about the program so I'm checking it out now.

That's really good to hear, thank you.

Thank you both for the replies. I haven't seen the sociology program so I'm checking that out now.

And I'm glad to hear someone had such a good experience at Fort Hays.

Unless the gen ed courses you require are upper division classes why not complete them through a community college (such as Clovis) or take CLEP/DSST exams? That should save you money and give you more time to find a four year college.

I took my latest LD DL courses (two geology courses) at Coastline Community College - These courses had quizzes and exams on-line with no-proctor.
