Here's the thing, if you were able to ACTUALLY drain your lymph, you'd be dead. So, there's that.

Just go to the seedier part of byron bay and wait to get stabbed. That should do the trick.

My favorite irony about some "complementary alternative therapies" is that IF they did what they claimed, they'd kill most the people that used them. They're safe because they're CRAP! :p

I used to love the magnetic bracelets. I believe they were supposed to "redirect" all the iron from the "wrong" parts of your body and into the "right" areas. (that STUPID blood stream doesn't do ANYTHING right, but ta-da for $19.95 you can fix it!) Who the hell wants to waste their oxygen sending it to all those wrong parts anyway?? We need it on our wrist baby!! :)

The cure for most of that crap is bio101, chem101, and for those really persistent folks, maybe a little A&P. But, those are big scary courses, so bring on the snake oil!

So I just figured out that Byron Bay is in New South Wales, Australia. Nice beaches, I guess. So if you're ever going to Australia and you have the impulse to get your lymphatic system stroked then Damien is your guy. He'll point the way.:lmao:

Licensed healthcare professionals who practice CAM have taken those big, scary science courses and then some. Those professionals not only include chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, osteopathic doctors, and acupuncturists; but, they also include nurses and medical doctors. I don't know anything about lymphatic drainage massages, but the Wikipedia article Kizmet linked to intrigued me. It looks like it's a common treatment for lymphedema.

Lymphedema (PDQ®) - National Cancer Institute

If you really need to keep your body fresh and produce a free flowing lymphatic system, you might want to check out the online course on "Lymph Drainage Massage Techniques" offered by the Institute of Somatic Therapy. The distance learning approach could be much more convenient than traveling to a B&M facility in byron bay.

I think it's also important to point out that some notable persons contributed to the wiki article including Pigman, Headbomb and Shoemaker's Holiday.

That's why I posted links to credible websites. I didn't even have to search for the massage. There were several articles on the disease that mentioned this as a treatment.

I wonder whether Doctors of Osteopathy really belong on that list anymore. Osteopathic medical schools still teach OMM, but my understanding is that few DOs focus on it; that the real difference between them and MDs is that the DOs look more at the whole picture of wellness -- something on which even the MDs are catching up anyway.

    Very true.

This is a fair comment, but of course it's subjective, and looks down on MDs relative to DOs.

DOs practice full-fledged, science-based medicine in every specialty from neurosurgery to orthopedics. This said, DOs are relatively more likely to specialize in primary care fields like family medicine and general internal medicine than MDs are. "[T]he mission statements of the majority of osteopathic medical schools state plainly that their purpose is the production of primary care physicians." DOs also also especially well represented in rural areas; "While DOs constitute 7 percent of all U.S. physicians, they are responsible for 16 percent of patient visits in communities with populations of fewer than 2,500." What is Osteopathic Medicine? (AACOM)

The numbers of seats both in MD and in DO schools in the U.S. are rising substantially, but growth is especially high in DO schools. One in five U.S. medical students is now in a DO school. (AACOMAS on Facebook)

You read where I said "some" CAM. You also probably know from my posts that my step dad is a chiropractor, my mom is a nurse, and I'd long considered applying to DO school...So I certainly know that CAM is used throughout mainstream health care.

So, in 4 minutes, I discovered that lymphedema is a lymph discomfort resulting from the side effect of cancer treatment (node is removed- fills up- hurts). You think that's what the poster wanted? If that's true, her oncologist can refer her to providers of CDT that will be licensed and covered by her insurance. Not sure how a distance learning forum is THE place to ask for information on that treatment? That said, the little voice in my head is telling that the OP is instead spamming for the whoo "that improves your body's ability to heal itself by 20%."

The OP's post is strange. Spam these days is becoming odd. I don't understand how this advertises anything.
