How have people from this board accomplished it? Id est, all online courses or B&M, or was there some credit by exam, Penn Foster, and aleks tossed into the pot? My goal is to ultimately work in Asset Management, and I'm looking at a range of butt-in-seat Masters in Finance Programs. The programs that I have contacted all had a let's wait and see approach which is why I am trying to reach out and have a notion of how to tread my path.

Well, you haven't said what school issued your degree so I guess you want it to be a secret. "Nontraditional" has no real meaning. Can't you even say if it's an accredited school? You're not providing the information that someone might need in order to answer your question.

Why pray tell would I be ashamed or worried about keeping my degree secret?

If we really must start way back in the past, I went to a top 5 high school, perfect SATs, and chose a small quirky liberal arts college with a pretty darn good reputation over the Ivies and Little Ivies my friends and classmates and went to. The college I chose had no required classes beyond 3 required interdisciplinary seminars, a dissertation and having a major and minor in 2 different disciplines or 2 majors. I was a student there for 2.5 years where I was a biochemistry and political science double major. But I got really sick and during my leave of absence decided that after interning and working in politics since I was 14 and summer clerking/ interning with judges since I was 16, I needed a change. So I moved back to nyc, started taking classes in international relations but found myself homeless, sick, and jobless once more so I had to drop out for a semester. Now I'm finishing up my degree online with one of the big 3 (haven't settled on yet) with the aim to finish by next June. Going back to my first college is not an option- for my own personal reasons and while working 60+ hours a week as a case manager, it's much much more easier to attend classes online. I have 64 B&M mainly UL credits in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Political Science, ALEKS alegbra and statistics and am looking to complete my pre-requisities via CLEP/ECE/SL by Christmas.

I'm looking at getting a BSBA with a double major in Finance and Accounting from TESC. I had noticed that SL offered 4 accounting courses, there are quite a few CBE options to complete the finance portion and for the rest there are plenty of online course options.

My question is "If you applied to business school after completing your undergraduate degree online or by including CBE, SL, or other approved ACE Credit, how did the school(s) react? Do you have any regrets? What would you have done differently?"

Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

My question was about the credits involved not the degree itself. I started out a top 100 liberal arts college and will finish with a Big 3 degree that I can honestly say I will have much, much more pride in.

I was wondering if anyone had applied to business school with a major completed via online courses, CBE, or ACE credit and the reaction of the schools. I have a good story, an excellent gmat score, and feel that despite my age because of my varied experiences that i can contribute much to my future cohort. I don't want to wrap up my degree and then find out that I was rejected because I used SL or PF for a class that I could have taken with a RA school.
