Hi. I'm a long time lurker and first time poster.

I'm wondering what kind of experiences people have had dealing with the support offices (admissions, registrar, financial aid, advising, etc.) at Baker University (www.bakeru.edu).

I was interested in applying to one of their online graduate programs. But their web site isn't that hot, and I had a hard time finding anyone who could answer my questions. In fact, one person hung up on me.

I'd really like to give Baker U. a chance, but if this is how they usually operate, I need to move on. So how about it - what are your experiences dealing with Baker?

    Thanks!

I had good experiences talking with Baker staff, including one faculty member. All were very helpful.

Baker is a traditional school that expanded for the adult learner. They have been around for quite a bit (I think they were founded in the 19th century)

As a small school, you might experience some difficulty with course rotations, something that doesn't happen as often as bigger schools like Liberty. By this I mean that if you don't take a class or fail a class at the right time then it might take some time until the class is offered again. This could delay your graduation.

I inquired about them a few years back and the staff was friendly, they returned my calls promptly and never bugged me as UOP, CTU or Liberty did.

They are non-profit and they certainly not behave like a for-profit school. That is all what I can tell you about them. I hope is helpful

Hi and welcome to Degreeinfo. Last year I contacted Baker University with regards to their MLA program and I never had any problems with them. In fact, all of my questions were answered on a timely manner and always to my satisfaction. I was dealing with Lottie Talbott ([email protected]), and she was great. Send her an email and let her know you are interested in one of the programs and take it from there. Baker is a small solid school in Kansas, it was founded in 1858. Don't judge a school by their website, many mills have great websites. Therefore, a website is not an indicator whether a school is good or bad.
