Does anyone know where I might find individual early childhood courses for college credit that are either self-paced or have flexible start dates? The courses can be undergraduate or graduate but must be regionally accredited.

This isn't self-paced, but is awesome:

Charter Oak State College, which is talked about here often for good other reasons, has a strength in this area.

You can see courses listed under Early Childhood Education. See also closely related courses uner Psychology (e.g. PSY 301 Psychology of Play, PSY 335 Psychology of Exceptional Children) and Sociology (e.g. SOC 350 Children, School, and the Community), and potentially After School Education.

COSC also offers course credit by examination in ECE subjects. At this time the examinations are only delivered in Connecticut.

You might also be interested in COSC's Early Childhood & Youth Education Certificate and Credential Programs, and their highly flexible bachelor's degrees with concentrations including Child Studies and Child and Youth Development.

VESi offers self-paced, graduate-level, continuing education courses in early childhood education. Several colleges will give graduate credit (degree level, not continuing education) and put the courses on their transcripts for a fee.
