Ok, so I've been putting it off and putting it off, but now I have to take the dreaded Statistics class. Here's the thing, I don't want to take it at my school because it's a 16 week class. I want to take it at a different school that has it offered in 10 weeks or less (preferably less). I will be paying cash for it, so I do not want to pay more than $1500 for the entire class. It *must* be RA so it will transfer to my school. It can't be Intro to Statistics or Business Statistics. It has to be regular, plain old Statistics. I've been trying to look online but I keep seeing a bunch of stuff, like Applied Statistics, that won't work. Help!!!
Nope. This is all University of Idaho independent studies offers: Math 108: Intermediate Algebra Math 130: Finite Mathematics Math 143: Pre-calculus Algebra and Analytic Geometry Math 160: Survey of Calculus Math 170: Analytic Geometry and Calculus I Math 1153: Introduction to Statistics As far as BYU, I'm not sure if it will work only because my school has their Statistics class as an upper division class and this one is a lower division class. I don't know how that would transfer over. BYU class: Statistics STAT 121: PRINCIPLES OF STATISTICS Stemplots, boxplots, histograms, scatterplots; central tendency, variability; confidence intervals and hypothesis testing involving one and two means and proportions; contingency tables, simple linear regression.
http://allencc.edu has a (3) unit online Statistics course that uses Excel. It's $330 total *including book rental*. My sister, not math-inclined, took it over the summer. She got an 80 (B) because the intermediate quizzes could be taken as often as you wanted; only the tests were one-time. The 3 100% averaged out the awful test scores.
I had to take undergrad stats during my PhD. https://www.liberty.edu/media/3415/courseguides/PSYC355_Syllabus.pdf
NC State | distance education (spring 2014 courses): NC State Distance Learning Education 2014 Spring Session Courses and Class Schedule Sam Houston State: [STAT 3379] STATISTICAL MEASURES IN PRACTICE (3 SCH course is $573.00) Correspondence Courses Offered: Statistics
Clovis has this course: 10455 STAT 213 1N0 4 Statistical Methods I 1/13 - 5/9 Online $50 http://www.clovis.edu/downloads/Spring2014Schedule.pdf If DSST works for you they have this exam: http://getcollegecredit.com/assets/pdf/dsst_fact_sheets/DSST_PrinciplesofStatistics.pdf But don't think of statistics as "dreaded" - with the right teacher and book(s) is is relatively simple, and very useful in sorting out BS from reality.
Also, if you're having trouble with some of the problems, you can post on Algebra.com in their Statistics area and a tutor will answer (well, usually). You can post up to 5 problems per day. Or you can use one of their paid tutors. They're independent and charge what they want. I've used one for math who charges $10/hr and is very good. Well worth the $.
You guys are awesome, thanks!! I found the class I needed and will be finishing it up soon *thank goodness*
