    Hi there,

I am in desperate need of an online graduate course in psychology ethics that is based on the APA or CPA Code of Ethics.

I am South African with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cape Town, and am in the process of registering as a psychologist in Alberta, Canada. My registration has been conditionally approved, pending completion of a "3 semester credit graduate level course in Ethics and Standards based on CPA/APA guidelines".

Any help will be hugely appreciated!

    Thank you!

3 semester credits ethics and standards for Canadian or APA psychologists

    Hey Catherine,

I saw your thread and am in the same position as yourself. I have completed a graduate and postgraduate qualification in Psychology from an Irish University. I am a registered psychologist practising for the past number of years.

I have been informed by CAP that I have to complete a 3 semester credit graduate level course in Ethics and Standards based on CPA/APA guidelines. However I am finding it extremely difficult to find such a course.

I have come across 'Being an ethical psychologist' developed and sponsored by the Canadian Psychological Association. This is apparently designed to be used for continuing education, or as a component of a graduate course in ethics (15 hours to complete). I dont know if this in combination with other courses will comply with the requirements??

Have you come across any courses which would meet the requirements of 3 semester credits?? I would be extremely interested to hear if you have or if you have had any assistance from CAP in tracking down a suitable course.

    Thanks
    Hughie
