Vanderbilt University hired a new basketball coach for the girls' team only to fire this person 24 hours later. It seems this person claimed to have two master's degrees but only had one.

I belong to a group called ProMatch. They are part of CA's EDD (Employment Development Department) and NOVA (forgot what that means). They help professionals with their job search.

I co-manage the resume team. On one review session, one of the members told us he lists holding a Masters because he considers having two undergraduate degrees as equivalent to having a Masters. It took us some time to convince him that two bachelors equals two bachelors, not a bachelors and a Masters.

    Some folks will rationalize anything!

KANE: www.nzqa.co.nz is about a guy who earned a BA and was issued an "honorary" MA and used it as a qualification to secure a job.

    Familiar story these days.

Or the guy who claimed a bachelor's degree in personal hygiene, because at 37 he felt he had at least 120 semester hours of life experience credit. After years of showering, shaving, etc., he felt he deserved the degree.
