Anyone heard of examity? Patten just switched over to this company to provide online proctoring. Supposedly it offers a less intrusive authentication process and the proctor doesn't take over your computer, etc. I just took an exam yesterday with Proctor U and then today received an email telling me I will take all future exams with examity.

I hope it is a smooth process. Online proctoring is really important.

I find their website intriguing. You start by uploading your "government issued ID." OK, Examity, here's my smart cousin's drivers license. Or my drivers license from Belarus. Let's go.

The CEO/President's self description includes three and only three things: he has a bionic hip, he sleeps no more than 4.5 hours a night, and he has 2 children but no pets.

How long before people start testing their security?

Online proctoring is new to me. Proctor U was the only online proctoring service I have heard of since I started doing my online education research. I am not one of those people who thinks of ways to beat the system but I wasn't a fan of letting them take control of my laptop.

I suppose I could also go to a testing site with my smart cousin's ID. I don't even look like my driver's license picture any more so I don't know if that's more of an issue online or not. When I tested with Proctor U they asked identifying questions that my cousins wouldn't be able to answer on the spot. I thought that approach was pretty interesting but also invasive.
