Also known as Palmers Green, Brentwick, Devonshire, and San Moritz. Nonexistent school. Biggest degree mill.

There is nothing "conflicting" about Harrington, Mr. 801. They are a totally fraudulent diploma mill, that will sell any degree to any person (or, in a few documented cases, dog or cat) for under $1,000.

There are a lot of 'grey area' schools about which there are conflicting opinions, but this is most emphatically not one of them. Your employee has bought a fake degree, presumably in the hope of deceiving you and others.

And to see some posted uses of the Harrington credential --

here is a faculty member at an overseas university, with a Ph.D. in Physiology. Note: most of the faculty come from well recognized schools.
    http://www.balamand.edu.lb/fhs/fhflist.html

A home-schooling organization whose founder has a Harrington Ph.D. in Special Education. http://www.aztec-hs.com/about.html

    A minister with a Harrington Ph.D. in Communications, http://www.livingparables.org/roberto.htm

The winner of the "Outstanding MADD Speaker of the Conference Award" with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. in Ministry, Divinity and Religious Studies. One of the degrees appears to be from DePaul the other from Harrington. http://www.neon-entertainment.com/Doc%20Robinfiles.html Advice: Drop the Harrington credential. Another bio is posted at: http://www.lrc.edu/news/news_03_05_02.htm from a speaking engagement this March at Lenoir Rhyne College in North Carloina, titled "Psychologist to speak on self-esteem."

    An HR Executive: http://www.rpionline.org/bios/maxwell.htm

And although I did find other college faculty here is the most blatant one that jumped out with B.S., MBA, and Ph.D. from Harrington. A faculty member in technology and none of the degrees are in this area - although he does have an A+ Cert. http://www.aibt.edu/catalog/west_vally_admin.html The school is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.

I was very surprised at the large number of Harrington users that were posting these credentials.

    Palmer's Green Question

    Mr. Bear,

Having read many of your posts and articles on the Internet regarding diploma mills, I'm hoping you can answer a quick question for me.

I understand that the web site of Palmer's Green University was closed down recently after a 4 year investigation between US and UK authorities. Would I be correct in assuming that Palmer's Green University, University of San Moritz, and Herrington University are one and the same?

More importantly, I am interested in knowing if there was ever a legitimate educational establishment named Palmer's Green University, located in Palmer's Green, London between the years of 1996 and 1999.

I am attempting to verify information in the curriculum vitae of an individual who lists his credentials as, among others:

    Kennedy-Western University, Cheyenne, WO 82001-4412
    2000-2002
    Ph.D. in Psychology
Concentration: Criminal Behavioral Psychology Credit hours: 60

University of Palmers Green, Palmer Green, London, UK
    1999-1999
    B.S. in Computer Science
Credit hours: 123 ACCREDITATION: Please see note “*” below

University of Palmers Green, Palmer Green, London, UK
    1996-1996
    M.A. in Psychology
    Credit hours: 72

In his C.V., this individual states that Palmers Green is "NOW" a diploma mill (suggesting that it was previously a legitimate establishment). In my research, everything would indicate that this is entirely untrue, and that Palmer's Green was always a diploma-mill, and no such actual university ever existed.

I do understand you are busy, and would certainly appreciate your time if you can briefly answer the above question.

If you prefer, I can be reached by private email at:

    Thank you,

    Hi

Categorically, there has never been an institution located at or near Palmers Green, London, called "Palmers Green University" between 1996-99, or at any time before that or since.

All British Universities are awarded Royal Charters by the UK government and only institutions with a Royal Charter can award British degrees. The closing down of British University with a Royal Charter would attract considerable publicity in the UK.

All British Universities with Royal Charters are listed in the Commonwealth Universities Year Book, a copy of which can be consulted at the nearest British Consular offices or office of the British Council (adjunct agency of the British Foreign Office). You may be able to consult the year book's contents on the Internet. You will not find Palmers Green "University" listed there.

    Good hunting.

I suspected that K-W would let people into their "graduate" programs if they claimed a bogus degree. There was one incident that I know of where someone with zero college experience (except for a totally bogus diploma mill) apparently got accepted into the Ph.D. program but eventually turned it down. To me, this is further indication that K-W is a bigger degree mill than it even appears on the surface. In other words, apparently K-W doesn't even follow their own very lax policies if they can sucker in another victim.

Thank you, Gentlemen for your extremely helpful responses!

In researching the University of Palmer's Green, it seemed clear before I came here that no such legitimate establishment had ever existed at all (contrary to this individual's statement on his C.V.), and I very much appreciate the responses, information and resources you all provided in order to verify this for me.

I had already debunked his Ph.D. from Kennedy-Western, and the only accreditations he seems to have left on his lengthy C.V. now, are a couple of courses at his local community college!!

I know where to come if I have any educational related questions in future... you people have been great!

    Thank you again.

    Doctor of Psychology fraud

There is a "PhD" that is practicing in Arizona City, Arizona that is dangerously claiming he's a psychologist. He's also claiming he's a Harrington Graduate. My fear, after dealing with this person is very real. He's counseling drug addicted people. I've learned that there is no Harrington University and he has advertised himself as an expert.
How can this fraud be stopped?

You might want to call the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners. https://psychboard.az.gov/ I'm sure they can help you with any unlicensed /unqualified person claiming to be a psychologist. I doubt they have licensed this impostor. It would be pretty unlikely with a fake degree.

The state licensing board will have a mechanism for complaints and ethics violations. Be careful though. While this person may well be flaunting a bogus PhD, it's possible that they have a legitimate Masters degree that qualifies them for licensure. In that case, the person in question might be revealed to be an egotist with poor judgement but they may not be violating the law in any way that will get him any serious consequences. Measure twice, cut once.

Be anonymous in your complaint. I've learned that anonymity in these situations isn't done because you fear the people you fight, you do it because the people you fight are cowards lacking honor who will attack you to protect their ego and their lie.

What would be an example of a "grey area" school? I understand that schools vary in prestige and difficulty, but I thought if a school is regionally (or even nationally) accredited, there is no debate as to their being legitimate, and if they aren't accredited, just steer clear. Are you referring to accredited schools with unscrupulous practices or unaccredited schools that might offer legitimate education?
