I am still undecided on where to go to get my MBA. Can I hear some recommendations, experiences from those of you who have gotten your MBA online or are in the process of getting your MBA online? I am looking for a solid, high quality program. I am more interested in learning rather than getting an easy, cheap degree. Money is a factor, but I'd rather pay a little more to get a better education.

    I'd appreciate any input.

    Thanks,
    Crystal

I would highly recommend getting a copy of Bears' Guide to the Best MBA's by Distance Learning, available through Amazon. The MBA is probably the most widely available DL degree, and it can be tough to wade through all the options.

I would also recommend choosing a program with aacsb accreditation.

I think Bruce is right. I bought at least three DL books and used countless online resources to find the DL MBA program that was right for me.

Each of us can give you our personal experiences but, what is important to you is different than what is important to me (or anyone else). I made a list of things that were priorities for my selection of the right MBA program. Like you, money was not the most important factor. For me, regional accreditation was on the top of the list. A school that was 100% DL was number two. The other factors were further down on the list. Actually writing out your priorities makes swimming through the seemingly endless number of options a little bit easier. Once you've narrowed it down to a few school, get more information from the schools and then ask around about each one of them. People here will be happy to help.

    Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I have done a lot of research and there is so much out there. I would like to start in the fall, so that cuts out a few schools considering their deadlines have already passed and the fact that I haven't taken my GMAT yet. I am considering Regis University. They look like they have a nice program. I know they are a top tier school, but their business school is not ranked. I was also looking at University of Baltimore, because they are AASCB, but they are not ranked either.

You may want to check out Brenau University at http://online.brenau.edu if price is an issue. It is a respectable RA program in Georgia.

I am in the application process to UMass right now. It is AACSB accredited and costs about $22,000 (www.umamherstonline.org).

I have a good friend who did the Regis MBA and had good things to say about it. Best of luck.

I am not a business major so for what ever it is worth here is my 2 cents.

Regis from what I understand is a solid program (good Jesuit University).

I do not know how you want to focus your MBA but the University of London has an affordable MBA available through distance learning & certainly a good name.

Liberty University has a distance learning MBA.

Webster University has an on line MBA (not going to be cheap)
http://www.webster.edu (Top Tier Masters level institution but I do not believe their business program is ranked as you mentioned was also the case with Regis).

Best advice was given by someone to check Bear's guide. The other things is to evaluate what you want and whether you can get it in a non-MBA masters (eg M.A. in Organizational Management which incidentally University of London has as well). Someone mentioned that there were quite a number of MBA's and that in certain fields business was looking for other Masters. Caveat****I am not an expert in this field in any sense.

    Best of luck to you!
