Hi, does anybody know if there is any way to get credit for The Great Courses' Art of Reading course? If not, has anybody taken any online courses that covered related topics? Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "related topics" but it you're just looking for some English Literature courses you can find them inside any Bachelor of Liberal Arts program (or Bachelor of General Studies). Start looking at you local state university system.

Most of the "Great Courses" are in fact very good -- but there is no way to get credit for them, even if you learned a lot. They are kind of like the library: they offer a great deal of information, and you can learn all kinds of stuff there. But neither the library nor The Great Courses Co. is set up to test your learning, which means that they can't provide college credit.

If you enroll in a related for-credit class, then presumably the knowledge you gained from the "Art of Reading" course should help you pass with a better grade.

This is true. I'm fortunate to have a large library of their courses, but if you'd like to earn credit, you have to find a way to use an exam option. I don't know the specific course you mention, but it may coordinate with Analyzing and Interpreting Literature via CLEP. If so, you can sit the CLEP, and that potential credit will wait patiently on your College Board transcript for you to send it to a college at some point in the future.
