    Hi --

I am a student at Excelsior and I'm wondering of anyone can explain the difference between having FCC review the FEMA credits prior to transferring them to EC versus the process at Clackamus. The cost to do so via FCC is pretty high, so I have been trying to figure out of Clackamus is a cheaper option. Thanks in advance!

Well, one difference is that Frederick is on the semester hour system while Clackamus is on the quarter hour system.

I'm reasonably sure that Clackamas won't let you just "wash" them through their school like FCC will. The Clackamas program requires additional work and additional on site FEMA training (if memory serves). Excelsior is unfortunately the last of the Big 3 that refuses to take FEMA direct from the Emergency Management Institute (that's what FEMA calls it) for free.

If you find a work around for this please let us know...but I'm pretty sure EC requires this credit through Frederick.

as an aside, Red Rocks in Arkansas, Guam CC, and at least one other school take FEMA EMI Independent Study Courses as part of specific programs. TESC and COSC will take the credit raw from FEMA.
