Maybe I am just behind the times and no up-to-date with current program offerings, but NMSU seems to be one of the few US-based institutions that I have seen that offers a full, residency-free graduate degree in the Spanish language. The fact that they offer a linguistics concentration as opposed to a literature-based program is an even more astounding fact. Mind, the degree is probably not the cheapest on the market, but it looks like a great option. Thanks for pointing out this institution, Kizmet!
Actually, on second glance, it might be possible to do for around 11k (in tuition fees). Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but here is how I am reading and calculating that fee: If one does 6 credits per term, one can get the part-time, in-state rates (279.5 USD per credit). Tack onto that the 25 USD rate per credit for distance learning fees. The Spanish program is 36 credits, so the calculation should look something like this: (279.50 + 25) * 36 = 304.50 * 36 = 10,962 USD Again, this is not the cheapest program on the market, but it's not insanely unreasonable either. What do you guys think?
