Since I found out that my state dep't. of education won't accept an MFA for upgrading a license, I've had to rethink my options. Other than Univ. of West Alabama, does anyone know of a school counseling master's that requires 36 sem. hrs. or less? Thanks!
Hey Michael, As I mentioned in your other thread on School Counseling, I believe that the majority of the states, if not all, require a 48 hour curriculum, per NCATE guidelines. I have yet to find a 36 hour curriculum. Lance
I found a couple of Texas schools that have the 36 hour curriculum, but they won't work for me, or probably for any other out-of-state student. The West Alabama degree costs over 17,000, almost twice the amount of an MFA, so it looks like I won't be doing a school counseling degree.
