History Master's with Christian History

Anyone know of a history master's where you can take mostly Christian history courses?

I googled your question, and came up with several unaccredited schools that offer programs in Church History. However, they have all been discussed in detail on this board and none of them are options I could recommend in good conscience. Would you consider a Master's degree in another concentration with several courses in Christian History included? If so, many seminaries have degrees other than an MDiv where you have more flexibility in the coursework you take. I know LBTS (where I attend) offer several MA programs and courses in Christian History. There are many, many more accredited and reasonably priced DL programs. Good luck in your search!

I do need RA accreditation, for teaching purposes. And I would consider a Master's degree in another concentration with several courses in Christian History included.

Are you looking to teach at college or elsewhere? Also, are you looking to teach only Christian History? The reason I ask is I am not sure that this would fall under the typical "18 graduate hour rule" or not. I don't think that you would have to have 18 hours in Christian History in order to teach Christian History in a college, provided you hold a Master's from an RA seminary. But then again, don't quote me for sure on that.

As far as a RA recommendation, I attend Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and it is the cheapest option around. The cost is a block rate of $2,350.00 for 9-15 credit hours. I am doing 12 this semester and it works out to $195.83/CH (which is cheaper than my normal military discount of $250/CH). I know in the MDiv program, I have to take 3 history classes alone: History of Christianity I, History of Christianity II, and History of Baptists. They have an MA option in Christian Ministry that has some openings for electives where you could add the History courses. Anyway, let me know what you decide!

I would like to have the option of college teaching, but for now and more realistically, a master's would give me a $4000 per year salary increase for public school teaching. I'm certified in English, social studies, and special ed.

I thought about getting certification in gifted or school counseling, too.

Payne Theological Seminary www.payne.edu offers an MDiv in Historical Theology based on a combination of online and summer classes (1/3 of the classes must be in residence).
Liberty University www.liberty.edu offers the following degrees by distance learning: MAR Church History, MATS Church History, MDiv Church History, and STM in Church History.
Regent University www.regent.edu offers a short-residency PhD in the History of Global Christianity (in addition to the MA in Christian Doctrine & History that Jacob Perry mentions hereinabove).
