Ashford U. eliminating TA positions

I am a TA for Ashford. We were informed that they are reducing class sizes, capping the number of students in each class -- at a lower number than what they had already capped them, giving the grading of the weekly assignments to the instructors, thus eliminating the need for TAs. This was sudden and shocking to me. I am very disappointed in this decision.

In my opinion, they got themselves into a mess by taking everyone with a pulse, thus admitting many illiterate people who had /have no business in college, but that's another story.

 

Sorry to hear the TA's aare losing their positions. Does this create more instructor positions? Could TA's apply ffor instructor positions?

 

I think the answer to both questions would be no.
