As I have been investigating and pondering DL doctoral opportunities, I have found that most programs, whether DL or resident, require courses in research methods and in the design of a doctoral research project. Anyone know of good resources for independent study in these areas? Books or web sources or individual courses, etc.? I’m looking at the possibility of research-only, and I need some help in these areas. I’ll start researching such resources myself, but I would certainly appreciate the benefit of other folks’ knowledge and experience. Thanks kindly, All.

Thanks kindly, Rich. Yesterday I found online "Timo's Reviews of Research and Doctoral Dissertation Advice Guides" by Prof. Timo Salmi of the Univ. of Vaasa, Helsinki. It's quite extensive, with the author's comments about each publication.
