    Hey all,

Looking for a distance combination masters/doctorate program.

I've seen combo bachelors/masters programs (although I don' t know if they were distance or not).

    Do such programs exist?

Since you did not say in what field, it is hard to give a more detailed answer

In the very traditional mode, it is/was common for bachelor's-holding students to be admitted to a Ph.D. program. In some cases, the master's was awarded along the way (say, after passing one's comps). In others, the master's was awarded for those students not who either did not submit a successful dissertation proposal, or who dropped out before completing it.

In many British schools, students are admitted to the MPhil and "upgraded" to the DPhil program after a year or so--when they've demonstrated their potential for conducting doctoral-level research.

In DL, however, the B-M-D hierarchy is much more distinct. But there are exceptions. Fielding once offered its master's in psychology only as an integral part of its doctoral program. (I can't tell from their website if this is still true.)

Combined degree programs were once a very common characteristic found in unaccredited, California-Authorized schools. Pricing was listed for each degree level, combined bachelor's/master's, combined master's/doctorate, and even combined bachelor's/master's/doctorate! This model remains common in some less-than-wonderful schools.

Well I'm pretty flexible on an area of interest, but it would be something related to English, communications, writing, media and the like.
