About 2 years ago I started on a quest to get my Touro University International back to Touro instead of Trident. The quest has come to an end. Here is a thread/comment posted last year

I graduated from Touro University International [Branch Campus of Touro College, NY]. That was sold off and renamed TUI which later became Trident. Personally, I have a bad taste in my mouth from Touro selling off their online program to a for-profit online only school and the transcripts...MY TRANSCRIPTS...being sold off as part of the deal. My academic records should reside with Touro College but they do not. Because of this I will always look down upon Touro and would never recommend any of their online divisions out of fear that this could happen again. TUW is RA and probably accreditied through NY.

Here is the update a year later - two years after I started this...which included contacting the Middle States Commission on Higher Education to issue a complaint.

The Touro University International graduates (pre-sale to Summit) transcripts are now with Touro College. I ordered mine today with a note in the special instructions "Touro University International graduate". I was told that they will be sent on plain paper (not Touro paper because I did not graduate from Touro) with a letter stating that Touro University International, branch campus of Touro College, is no longer in business. I will post more when I get the transcripts.

Thanks USGRAD (who ever the heck you are) for all your help!

The TUI thing was always a separate operation, awarding degrees and using delivery methods not found at Touro College. Sure, they were technically under Touro College's umbrella, but really did operate separately.

The whole university-as-a-division-of-a-college thing was awkward.

I graduated from The University of New York, Regents External Degree program. My transcripts are the exact copies from those days, but they're issued by Excelsior. I find that satisfying. I would not want to have an Excelsior transcript--I didn't attend there.

I'm glad you got what you wanted, and it sounds like things are aligned the way they should be. I think Touro is trying to distance itself from that whole matter, however, which is why you were getting served by Trident. But Touro should own up to its responsibilities and manage the outcomes of their involvement in what is now Trident. Looks like, in this case, they are (finally).

Wow. I had thought about going there. I'm so glad I never did.

Bizarre situation that you sort of attend Touro, but sort of didn't. I'm curious how the transcripts will look too.

From the mail I used to get, there were a fair number of people (potential students, students, alumni) with concerns about Touro--perhaps especially their dreadful "grades for sale" scandal (I believe ten faculty were indicted) around the time their founder-president, age 93, was by far the highest-paid college official in America ($4.8 million/year). Here's one article: Scandal scarred Touro College's prez tops compensation list - NYPOST.com
