    Hi All,

    Great site, lot's of info.

    I'm looking for advice!

Dropped out of a Humber College in Toronto, Ontario (Canadian Citizen), after finishing the below 39 credits about 10 years ago. I'm considering a 90 credit BA program at Athabasca here in Canada but would also consider TESC.

With no completed education background outside of high school, I've been consistently able to pull down between $70k-$100k a year in sales positions. That said I'm going to need a University degree to move forward in my career. A university degree seems to be a minimum requirement when applying for jobs these days.

I've listed courses I've completed at Humber College, note that I've also included credits I could potentially receive at Athabasca without much issue.

    Humanities - HUMA 024 = HUMN 2XX - 3 credits
    College Writing Skills COMM200 = ENGL 1XX - 3 credits
    Intro to Business BMGT 100 = ADMN 201 - 3 credits
    Business Writing Skills COMM 300 = ADMN 233 - 3 credits
    Management Studies BMGT 201 = ADMN 232 - 3 credits
    Business LAW BLAW 100 = LGST 2XX - 3 credits
    Micro Economics BECN 100 = ECON 247 - 3 credits
    International Marketing MKTG 470 - TBD - 3 credits
    Starting a new Business MKTG 471 = ENTP 212 - 3 credits
    Professional selling MKTG 311 = MKTG 3XX - 3 credits
    Retailing MKTG 205 = TBD - 3
    People, Money, Markets ECON 004 = ECON 3XX - 3 credits
Mathematics of finance BMAT 220 = MATH 244 -3 credits

My main questions revolve around credit transfer for international students. Does anyone have any experience doing this with Canadian college courses through ECE/WES etc? It looks like it's about $140 request a review.

The Athabasca option is a great but very time consuming as I'll need to complete the additional 51 credits through course work or PLAR. I would prefer to test most of those credits and get a degree from TESC if possible.

With a full-time job, wife & kids, I'd like to take the path of least resistance.

    Feedback is much appreciated!

Your list of courses are in business but what degree major are you aiming for?

Personally I suggest looking into Excelsiors BSLS (allows 59 elective semester units including professional courses) or their BSBA. I transferred in around 60 engineering semester units, after my UK units were evaluated by ECE, towards my Excelsior BSLS.

From other posters it appears that COSC is a great school from which to earn a degree.

TESC, EC, and COSC all accept credit obtained from passing CLEP/DSST exams or from the Portfolio process.

These three schools also award Associates degrees so that could be an interim step for you.

Thanks for the reply, great info.

My concern is that ECE or WES wouldn't even consider my transfer request as the course are from a community college in Canada.

Well I'm going to roll the dice with Educational Perspectives.

The only reason being is that they are not ECE or WES, I've seen negatives reviews for both.

It's only $135, if it doesn't work out I'll probably end up going the longer, more expensive Canadian route.
