Isn't this based on the same article as the "Everyone does worse with online learning" discussion thread?
I don't think a week goes by where someone on this site doesn't say that exact same thing. Of course it's not best for everybody. Not even water is best for everybody The Girl Who is Allergic to Water.
Online Learning Depending on the university or school, online learning does require the discipline to stick with it to succeed. Many students do better in a classroom environment with the instructor there in person. Others do well with not having to interact with other students/professors in person except thorough the required chat participation online. It is mostly up to individual preferences, but many students are adapting to online learning as it is in some ways the cheaper way to go these days.
You're right about "in SOME ways" it's a cheaper option. However, for the most part, it cost the same when you compare the cost of attending. You have to take all the factors of online education into consideration. Here is one cost factor: Someone has to play for internet, unless you got to one of those "coffee shops" with a mermaid on it--they offer wifi at no cost.
I'm not even going to bother to read this. Other articles from captain obvious include: "Air, someone needs it" "Some people like things that other people don't" "Journalism is dead, why must I murder it some more?" "Somewhere a conservative disagrees with a liberal" Fuck me.
Obviously online learning isn't for everyone. And I'm sure glad for that. My DL education makes my schedule flexible enough that I was able to get 3 jobs through my school which not only helps with my bills but afforded me a CONSIDERABLE tuition break. If everyone could, and did, do DL then more people would have been available for those jobs and I might be SOL. Besides, only the cool kids do DL schooling.
