So I have done a great deal of research on PhD reserach degrees in these countries.. and now I am just exhausted! :) So I am throwing this out to you... Does anyone have any suggestions on On-line doctoral degrees in Education in these countries that are exceptionally inexpensive or no cost? Norway for example are no cost.. Has anyone successfully completed one of these degrees from the above countries (or any that I am missing) and are working in the USA? Finland was a country that I received some responses but all the schools noted that I needed to travel to their country 3-5x a year... Germany is nearly impossible to navigate through the language barrier.. and Norway seems like their doctoral offerings are somewhat limited..

I tried for New Zealand, Australia, Caribbean, Canada and most were very pricey.. Any suggestions there as well?

I am looking strictly for bricks and mortar colleges.. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! :)

Most people have had similar experiences and this is why we don't talk much about schools from these particular countries. They're just not set up to do what we want them to do. If your set on Europe then you may have better luck in the Netherlands.

Oh yeah, this might help a bit

Any European school is going to be expensive if you are not an European citizen. This is normal, if you don't pay taxes there, why would you expect free education?

Finding cheap DL doctorates have been an issue during many years, people have been able to locate cheap options in India, Malasya, Mexico, South Africa but most people also want degrees that can be used in the USA, Canada, Europe and the cheap options seem to be of limited use mainly because low prestige of the countries with cheap education.

In few words, you are trying to find something that doesn't exist; cheap and prestigious. If you are able to find one let us know as some people have been looking for this for years.

Minor point -- generally this is the case, but it used to be possible to get a free MBA from at least one Swedish university, IIRC someone on this forum did so. My understanding is that many Nordic universities still do not charge for doctoral study. Getting in, though, and being approved to study at a distance, that's another matter. I don't remember any success stories there.

Why not go local and try for a scholarship? It might be a better option than trying for an overseas degree at a low price. If you want to go offshore, then South Africa may still be the best option. South Africa will be dissertation only.

The universities are not "low tier" and some have been around for fairly long time. Some have good partnerships with Ivy League US universities. I recently commented in another thread that Yale and Cornell have a partnership arrangement with the University of Free State.

    Best of luck with Europe.
