    All;

    Here is an excellent article about students who took advantage of state opportunities. As an example:

    "Heather Shute had a college degree but, worried about the shaky economy and uncertain job prospects in her field, did a career pivot and went to community college to study aircraft maintenance — and got a job at Boeing even before she graduated."

    It's too bad more people don't know how to reduce their college costs. Things have deteriorated to such a degree than many young women are literally selling themselves to afford their educations...

    Woman's body, woman's choice.

    Imagine their surprise when they discover that the BA is mostly meaningless in this economy. At least they're learning a useful skill while in school.

    The problem that High School counselors do not teach students these ways to eliminate college costs. All they do is encouraging students to attend college after high school.

    Out of idle curiosity, I asked a young man installing our upgraded computers at my workplace if he was also from out of town, since I heard other installers mention staying in hotels. It turned out that he was a 23 year old HP representative from Frederick, who was working at HP and taking college classes as well. He has amassed most the credits that he needs for a bachelor's degree from Frederick Community College. He intends to transfer to the U of Maryland, and since all of his credits should transfer, he will have a degree from a more selective school at a significantly reduced price. Smart!
