US and non-US schools combine efforts http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/21/education/universities-abroad-join-mooc-course-projects.html?ref=education&_r=0
A quote from the NY Times article: "Meanwhile, edX... is doubling its university partners to 12, adding Rice University, the Australian National University, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland and, in Canada, McGill and the University of Toronto." Well, I'm DARN surprised - and it's about time... Last time I looked, McGill U. (Montreal) was so tradition-bound it would not admit a person to graduate studies based on ANY distance-degree, no matter from what school it was earned! Not even Harvard, AFAIK. It wasn't that long ago -- and I don't know if that policy has been amended. And now they're participating in MOOCs? Well, if you can't lick 'em, join 'em, I guess. Johann
