If you've already earned a bachelor's in another field, I would recommend Thomas Edison State College, a regionally accredited public school in New Jersey that accepts unlimited transfer credit, gives credit for life experience, costs very little, and offers a B.S. in Business Administration with a variety of optional specializations.

    Good luck.

The section from my book Bears' Guide to the Best MBAs by Distance Learning that suggests eleven important factors to consider in choosing any distance MBA, is available free on the publisher's website:

From my casual inquiries it has seemed to me that there are more DL MBA programs around than any other single degree. There are so many, and they come in all shapes and colors, and all price ranges, that I don't see the sense in getting a second Bachelors degree (that seems to be what you're proposing) when you could get a Masters instead. For instance the (totally) online MBA program at UMass-Amherst even has an intro course entitled "Foundations of Business" (or some such) which is also offered totally online for those who don't have a business-oriented Bachelors degree. Good luck,
    Jack

I agree with Jack. Even if you have a basic background in business (ie: you took an accounting course, a univ-level mathematics course, and perhaps a sociology and a psych course that have something to do with human relations), you'd do well to find a low-cost MBA that meets your needs. Employers seem to like the letters "MBA," so if you can find one that is economical to obtain and is acceptable to potential employers, I would respectfully suggest that the Masters would be a better route to follow.

For the same effort it would likely take for a second Bachelors, you could take a few foundation courses and then take an MBA. It will likely be more useful (profitable) in the long run than an undergrad business degree.

CSU Dominguez Hills has a distance MBA that at one time was not too expensive. There is UoPhx MBA which IS expensive. There are off shore programs that are quite good and easy on the wallet as well.

    Good luck,
