A few weeks ago I posted I thread inquiring if anyone knew of an RA program that would accept my non-RA SCUPS AA degree (CJ) in transfer. I received 12 responses and all were helpful. I posted a follow-up indicating that NCU, despite its "family ties" with SCUPS, would not directly transfer my credits.

Rich Douglas suggested Bellevue University in Nebraska. I have been communicating with them and was recently advised that they will accept my SCUPS degree in transfer. (They first researched the school and determined that the state approval (and nature of the school's programs) was sufficient to permit transfer entry. I also received info that they award 24 semester hours for law enforcement training so I may very well end up with advanced standing. They offer an On-line BS in Criminal Justice Administration which begins in August.

So far all of my dealings have been extremely positive. Quick e-mail responses from the admissions counselor, etc. Does anyone have any info on Bellevue that will help me? It looks like the place for me given what I can enter with, credit-wiseand the fact that its RA.

Rich Douglas, thanks much for the suggestion. You posting may very well turn out to be the first step towards my Bachelor's.

    That's great, congratulations!

My impression of Bellevue is that it's a solid, regionally accredited school that falls into the "vanilla" category. That is, you won't set the world on fire or impress the hell out of Ivy League graduate admissions with a Bellevue degree, but you certainly won't be embarrassed or be prevented from applying to the Ivy League schools either. I think you'll find it's a very useful credential.

BTW...my apoligies to whoever coined the "vanilla" phrase for my stealing it, I forget who you are but I think it's perfect.
