Ray University -- totally fake

This new phony has been sending out emails offering the degree of your choice, no questions asked, for $495, with accreditation claimed from the equally fake Accreditation Bureau for Higher Learning (ABHL). The only reason for posting messages like this is so that when people do a search for Ray University, they will come here, as well as to the website.

 

Wow that's scary. The website looks very professional, but not great to navigate. I wonder how much money it costs to set something like that up? How much these clowns will make off it? How long before someone shuts them down? Good catch.

Possibly quite a lot. The most successful diploma mill operators are believed to make $10,000,000 to $100,000,000 per year. Much more than it costs to set up a slick website.

Possibly never. Notice that Ray University carefully avoids listing their location. So what law enforcement agency has jurisdiction? It would likely be difficult to even identify their country. And even if you did, it would likely be a second or third world country (like Pakistan) that does not put a high priority on prosecuting internet scams. Maybe they don't even have laws against fake degrees.

 

$495? That is the exact price for the doctorate offered by Northwestern International University, Ltd.

Good job nmesproject, great job in fact. I am gonna chat with them to see what happens. I love wasting A-holes like this time. There is something so sleazy, so disgusting about this it makes me sick. I feel bad for anyone duped by this, but people need to thoroughly check things out. No doubt so dubious people want a school like this to issue a fake degree too though. What that is worth I have no idea. I am simply disgusted by this. Turns out there are quite a few schools just like this. They should be shut down, websites killed, but I guess the beat goes on with this stuff.

 

I just had a chat session too, and I let them have it! I did not copy it but I should have. He terminated the session after I let him have it, and I mean I let him have it. After he said "we don't provide any classes or courses for you electrical engineering degree" I could not help it. I lost it, I went crazy on his @ss. What a piece of garbage. $595 though for me degree that is printed out on a Canon printer. I said how do I learn to be any engineer, and earn my diploma for being an Electrical engineer without courses and classes? He said we "don't do that here". I am truly disgusted by these people, and others like them.

Google "Cambell State University" (be sure to mis-spell it as Cambell - no P) or - get this - Nixon University! (Sorry, but again, you have to Google.)

I dunno whether Profs Haldeman, Erlichman, Mitchell and Dean teach at Nixon U. -- or what's Arabic for Watergate. I picked up these two, surfing Google-translated Arabic pages about ABHL. According to what I read, they've got a whole marketing scheme in Arabic countries whereby one can earn money as an "agent" for Cambell State or the other schools.

Many simianities - I mean similarities - on these "School" sites. :smile:

True. But it is kind of entertaining to toy with these clowns for a minute or two. And I have to hand it to this Ray outfit; they're making some pretty snazzy commercials/infomercials with paid actors to make this scam look as legit as possible.

Oh this stuff is way out of control. I will say this though after chatting with them for 5 minutes if you don't understand its a scam then you have serious issues. I said to the guy I drove a truck for 12 years does that qualify me for an engineering degree and he said we will have to see. Can you imagine me saying that to TESC or Excelsior? They would have laughed in my face. This place is 495 dollars for a piece of paper. That is one expensive piece of paper, and it probably does fund terrorists, who the heck knows.

How come you rate India and Pakistan as 'Fourth World Countries' ? You need to study a bit more about the Country's rankings as Third World or Fourth World.

Secondly, i can tell you very surely about Pakistan. You are not allowed to even teach in our Universities with degrees from 'US Online Schools (Even DETC Recognized)'. You really need to have a solid 'On Campus Degree' and surely from the Top Schools. Then you have less than 10% of chances of getting even short listed for an interview.

For your information, Pakistan has a very strong 'Human Resource Development' programmes since last 8 years, and majority of our Faculty is graduated from one of the Top 100 Universities in the World, thanks to the Higher Education Commission.

 

It's hard to believe that degreeinfo has overlooked the MUST University channel.

Interesting that Ray says San Francisco, 94101. Same thing Must University says. Must actually provided a street address on Market Street, which turned out to be a small mail forwarding service that would not, of course, say where they forwarded the mail.
