    Hallo's Connie

Prof Helena approved your PhD application. You will be registered for the Pre-registration programme during this week.

    Regards
    Edna

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I suspect that it will be like my field study with them. I will submit a presentation to be graded, and a second one.

    PhD Programme - Pre-Registration
    Study code: 6961
    Module code: Pre906

On completion of the application process and pre-registering process, the candidate will be informed about a compulsory research methodology workshop. (Waived for me)
    Here after the following apply:
    1. Candidates must submit their preliminary topics where after preliminary supervisors will be allocated. (Done)
    2. Candidates will present their research proposals to a panel consisting of internal and external evaluators. (I will do this using Knovio)
    3. The panel will select the candidates who will be formally admitted to the PhD programme.
    4. In case of substantial changes to the research proposal a candidate will be afforded a further six months to change the proposal where after the candidate will undergo the full process anew.
    5. If a candidate’s proposal has been declined by the panel he/she will get no further opportunity to pre-register for the PhD.
    .
    Additional prerequisites
    ▪ An MBA degree or equivalent with an average of 65% for all MBA modules
    ▪ 65% for Business Research Methods
    ▪ 65% for the MBA field study/dissertation
The MBA field study/dissertation must be an expanded MBA field study/dissertation (minimum 60 credits) with duration of at least one academic year.
Adherence to the above requirements will not necessarily guarantee admission to the PhD in Business Administration.
Admission to the PhD in Business Administration is subject to approval by the Director
of the UFS Business School. Successful applicants will be invited to enrol for the PhD’s pre-registration programme.

    Duration of PhD

The pre-registration period forms part of the duration for a PhD as determined by the University. The candidate has a minimum of 24 months (2 years) including the pre-registration period and a maximum of 60 months (5 years) including the pre-registration period to complete the PhD. The maximum duration can be extended at the discretion of the Director of the School subject to valid motivation.
