Help please! I've been trying for a very good while to find the degree I really need.

The degree program I'm looking for would be a bachelor of science via DL, either on math, applied math, math and stats, statistics or applied statistics. Even though math is my biggest priority I'm also interested in computer science, philosophy or accounting.
The reason I think I've been struggling so much is because I think is hard to find a degree with the flexibility that I want. My ideal degree would be done completely at home, self-paced or if not very accelerated, as auto-didactic as possible, whether by taking a series of exams for what I already know, or by some other method. And finally I would need this program to be very affordable, or at least considerably affordable but by no means am I interested in those degree mills, not at all. I know these are a lot of requirements but I would be satisfied with one type of degree that at least has most of them. I'm very interested in math since I've always been good at math and I'm actually working as a math tutor right now. I have searched for one flexible program like that in the Big 3 assessments institutions but I haven't found what am looking for. I would like to know if there are any more similar institutions in the US, or something similar in Australia, Canada or anywhere else in the developed world, or somewhere where my degree could be reasonably recognized in most countries. I know it is too much to ask for but I think asking for help in an online community like this one is my best shot to find that. I apologize for any grammar mistakes I'm likely to be committing right now since English is a second but not my native language. Well I think this is it and thank you very much in advance.

Hi Deru. A warm welcome to Degree Info. Here's why your posts are delayed in showing up: http://www.degreeinfo.com/general-distance-learning-discussions/35100-new-users-ask-where-did-my-posts-go.html The delay can be anywhere between a few minutes to a number of hours and depends on when moderators are online.

To answer your question, the most auto-didactic school I know of is NCU. In fact, it is often criticized on this board for offering little help to students. I attended a number of classes in one of their doctoral programs a few years ago and I can attest to the quality of their programs. The material and system is first rate, but you are totally on your own. Here's a link: NCU Programs. They don't appear to offer a math degree but they offer a degree in accounting.

Western Governors University sounds like it might be a fit, but it includes a teacher licensure component.
BA Mathematics (5-9 or 5-12) Course of Study

You can pretty much get your degree self-paced at one of the Big 3 (with the exception of the capstone) by taking independent study courses from other colleges. COSC also gives credit for the Mathematics GRE.

Thanks surf doctor I didn't know about NCU, do you know of any more schools like that one that might offer a degree in math, a bachelor of science?
Thanks major56 and sanantone too, I had already seen all those schools but I think they aren't the fit I am looking for.

Does anyone know about an assessment institute other than the big 3 here in the US or in Australia or Canada or anywhere else in the world?

Athabasca University in Canada has a 90 semester-hour Bachelor of General Studies program that's said to work similarly.
