Doctor of Management - University of Maryland UC

    Happy new Year degreeinformer,I hope this year bring joy and happiness for everyone !!

    I wounder if anyone here enroll in the Doctor of Management program at UMUC the program sound very good compare to for-profits business doctorate program . I want your opinion compare to DBA program at Wilmington University or DBA at NC :scratchchin:

    Good school, good program, hefty price.

    I agree the program sound very attracitve but the price is way high .

    I knew someone who did UMUC's DM program and she liked it. Still, at roughly twice the price of Wilmington University's DBA, and little additional utility, I'd easily go with the latter.

    Little additional utility? That implies the UMUC doctorate has more than the Wilmington doctorate. I doubt it.

    Well, it may have more utility when people reading your resume confuse UMUC for the University of Maryland, College Park...

    ...yeah, you win. None, then.

    No, I don't. You're point is well-taken. IMHO, UMUC has been trading on the UM brand for a long time. The "UC" part doesn't distinguish it much from the main campus, unlike geographic designations. "University of California, Santa Barbara" is not going to be confused with the "University of California" or "University of California, Los Angeles." But "University of Maryland, University College" sounds like a branch of the main UM school.

    I think I was wrong, even if for an unfortunate reason.

    The utility depends on how you wish to use the degree. In our student of business management faculty, we found a good number with the DBA as the terminal degree and very few with the DM.
