I'm gonna start studying for some CLEP tests for a program at TESC. I was gonna take a program that required 3 credits for all the General education requirements consisting of English comp, Humanities, Social sciences, and College math. But now I'm thinking of taking another program that requires English Comp, Humanities, Social sciences but they require 6 credits each. How do i accomplish this? Are there longer exams that you can opt for that get you 6 credits each or am I not following how this all works right? Oh I also need College Algebra or above and general physics each 6 credits each. Thanks for any help, I will appreciate it very much.

As I think i mentioned before it really depends on how your school takes the exams...it's completely dependent on what your school accepts. If this is a t the Big 3 then there are subject exams worth 6 credits in several of those areas.

    ACE Credit Recommendations | CLEP

As you can see the recomendation is 6 credits in subjects like:
    American Lit
    Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
    College Comp (English Comp)
    English lit
    Humanities
    Social Science/History
    Biology
    Chemistry
    College Math
    Natural Sciences

Some schools offer up to 12 credits for the Language exams dependent on your score.

YOU HAVE TO CROSS REFERENCE THIS WITH YOUR SCHOOLS REQUIREMENTS!

Ok I guess I was confused. I thought all those were only worth 3 credits each. I'm gonna study for humanities first I think. I looked at the Electronics engineering technology program and after I get though the General ED CLEP credits part, I will only need 12 credits in the actual program to get my degree which I find just awesome.

I'm most likely going to take the ASAST Electronics engineering technology program at TESC.

As far as I know they follow the standard credit recommendation as put forth in the link I gave you.

Oh that link helped, thanks. I have been all over the CLEP website and I hadn't run across that page. I'm good now, I get it. Boy after I pass these CLEP exams I am in good shape. As I sad I might only need 12 more credits to get my ASAST. Hey by the way do other schools use the ASAST and BSAST names? I thought degree in general only went AS, BS, MS? Do employers recognize ASAST and BSAST? Just two curious questions.

I never took it, but I've heard that the Humanities one is notoriously difficult.

Analyzing and Interpreting Literature should be infinitely easier than Humanities...yet it gets counted at TESC as Humanities credit...6 credits. CLEP - College-Level Exam Program

Here is the DSST list at TESC DANTES

There may well be instances where two 3 credit exams may be easier than a single 6 credit exam. Where I live I can almost take 2 DSST's for the cost of a single CLEP exam too.

Are you aware that TESC awards credit for ALEKS Math? If your good at math you can knock out credit very quickly and cheaply that way. http://www.aleks.com/about_aleks/course_products look under "higher ed math"

Are you serious you can use the Analyzing and interpreting CLEP exam for the Humanities requirement? I have a lot to learn about this CLEP business. I just got my Humanities CLEP exam study book too. Is there anyway to study up on the A&I exam or its just learning how the exam is laid out and how the questions are asked? Thanks again for all the help.

A&I lit is essentially a reading comprehension test....I will send you a link later though

Analyzing and interpreting CLEP exam was not too tough. I read the REA Study Guide for Analyzing and interpreting CLEP. I used the Comex book for General Humanities. The Humanities test was not that easy but you can manage it with a little effort.

I'm reading this Humanities study book and this stuff is DRY, as in boring! Maybe I will really study for and take practice exam after practice exam of the A&I CLEP exam. Are we 100% positive TESC excepts this as the Humanities requirement? How is English comp? Big pain in the butt or not so bad? Thanks for the help.
