Hello everyone this is my first post on this forum. I need some advice. I am an Assemblies of God minister (going through ordination) and am the Associate Pastor of a Reformed liturgical church... long story lol. Anyway my first degree in pastoral ministry from Lee University is enough for ordination, but I would to take my studies farther. Distance learning is my only option. What are your opinions as far as quality of program and reputation of Campbellsville University's Master of Theology program? My future goals are to be a senior pastor of an AG church and to grow by church planting.

I live about 5 miles from Lee (I am not AG or COG) I am sure that you received a very fine education at Lee. I have never heard of Campbellsville but my understanding after living in this town for decades is that the AG and COG can be quite persnickety about who they ordain and license. This school seems very legitimate but it's a Southern Baptist institution and an M.Th from Campbellsville might not sit well with some in the AG. You might want to consider a AG school like SAGU | Christian University & Bible College in Texas that has a DL M.Div program or reference Bakers guide to online Christian learning Christian Online Learning: Bible, College, Seminary Degrees which has up to date information of DL for Christians.

CU is a good school and their Master of Theology program is good; I was considering it myself. I have talked with several faculty members, and they were very helpful.

As chrislarsen said, though, they are Baptist, so you might want to take that into consideration if that would be an issue for you.

I apologize for not responding to you guys, thank you for your advice! I've been getting my ducks in a row and am narrowing my options. SAGU, SEU, and GU are all AG schools, and good ones. My wife is currently in their Berean School of the Bible doing courses for her credentials. Regent now has some completely online options and they are more in the Pentecostal/Charismatic tradition. The only thing there is the affiliation with Pat Robertson.

If distance education is your only option you may want to try Global University. Global is an online assemblies of God school offering degrees up to MDIV for around 220$ or so per credit hour (regionally accredited.) If you are looking for a cheaper option Grace school of theology is 150$ per hour and is Tracs accredited. Grace comes from a dispensationalist free Grace perspective. Hope that helps :)

I am currently in the doctoral program at Bakke Graduate University in Seattle. They are nationally accredited. It is non-denominational and has a focus on urban ministry (which is the future of ministry opportunities, and population trends). Many students are international and an AG student would fit in very well.
Excellent program. The masters program can be completed entirely online. The doctoral program (depending on the program) requires one or two 10 day "overture" classes.
