I am both a U of L man and a Canadian so I thought it would be fun to compare two of the top non-US DL Universities that offer DL MBA's

The University of London is a very prestigious U.K. University that received its Royal Charter in 1836. Two of its colleges offer MBA's which I discovered were quite cost efficient as most of their DL programs are.

Athabasca University is the leading DL University in Canada (IMHO) They are a member of the Association of Universites and Colleges of Canada.

The Royal Holloway MBA is 7,300 Pounds ($10,490 U.S. and $16,741 CDN) compared to Athabasca's DL MBA which runs $29,500 CDN ($18,491 US) for nationals and $35,367 CDN ($22,170 US) for those outside of Canada.

The Imperial College MBA which like Athabasca was ranked third in its own nation with Imperial also being ranked 5th in Europe, runs 9,960 Pounds ($14,311.00 US and $22,841 CDN)

A Canadian who takes a U of L Imperial College MBA will save $6,659.00 CDN in comparison to Athabasca Universities MBA.

If a Canadian takes Royals MBA they would save $6,209.00 CDN.

I would have to give the decision to U of L in affordability. Athabasca is a fine school but U of L seems to be a step up.

Well, CIM at AU is a profit centre, so the MBA tends to be priced quite high. I am not familiar with London's activities, but CIM tries to do more "value added" things that involve activities like having MBA students meet with Canadian business leaders and other types of extensive networking endeavours. I think that if the undergrad side of AU was funded a bit better, then there would likely be less pressure on CIM to constantly "up" the costs of an AU MBA. (just my personal opinion--nothing official) As for Royal Roads, well, I would suggest that within the next couple of years that the difference between its fees and those of AU will be totally wiped out because of Mr. Campbell's "reforms" in BC.
In the end, it all comes down to making the best choice that works for you...

    Very True

Athabasca is a good school but as a fellow Canadian I am so sick and tired of the massive tuition fees in this country, The Open Learning Agency is even higher.

Learning in Canada is costly and seem to be for the well off only. I do not know if you agree but I cannot stand the high costs of learning.

    Re: Very True

My tuition is "covered," so to speak, but the way that they are jacking up costs at our institutions in Canada bothers me because of the hardships that I know that it's causing others. I don't want people to have to make the choice between paying for an exorbitant tuition bill, and being forced to stay in a menial (and very low paying) job because they can't afford the tuition. While I know that profs have to be paid and all of that, I am beginning to have a lot of problems with the way that some univ administrations (mine included) spend money on frivolous ventures and excessive travel. In the end, the "average student" and the taxpayer have to foot the bill.
