I'm working my way through a paper on the future of distance learning publishing, in which regular references are made to "K & U" without explanation, since presumably everyone but me already knows.

    Sample 1:
...even in a world with lifelong learning as a macro-economic goal, distance CIS degrees worldwide probably only assess application or higher cognitive skills to a maximum of 5 per cent of overall summative assessment. That astounded me - in CIS of all subjects! That's even worse than the widely accepted all-subjects undergrad figure of 90 percent K&U.

    Sample 2:
...the "instructional designers" count mouse-clicks and stay firmly with the mass assessment of K&U, vis a vis the more holistic Vygotsky types who can cope with varied input and more academic output with the added ability to watch the money.

A Google search found almost entirely Arabic sites (where the "K" and "U" keys must be very important) and "Drs. K & U Chopra."

    Help appreciated. Thanks.

    John,

In assessment is stands for Knowledge and Understanding.

Here is a quick link: http://www.markbook.com/MK-org.htm

You will find K&U referenced in Section 4.
