Are there any online adjunct positions in Canada? I have never seem any advertisements for online instructors in Canada.

I'm Canadian. I have an uncle who teaches education courses online in Canada. Queens maybe?

    Quite a few actually:
    -Athabasca University
    -Humbert College
    -University Canada West
    -George Brown College
    -Niagara college
    -Algonquin College
    -Royal Roads University

Canadian schools actually pay well but the trick is that many have unions that give priority to people with seniority. I tried many times with Athabasca but positions were always given to people with seniority.

Thompson River U. has a fair number of online jobs posted.

You would think that Athabasca would be all over this one, since they have a strong DE department!

Yes, you would -- but as RFValve said:

Pretty much a "closed shop" there, I guess.

BTW - nice to see one of my almae matres listed: Niagara College. Good school, but IIRC it will be as "unionized" as any, when it comes to adjunct positions.

Most of these schools with unions pay well but it is hard to get in. Most of the time, only people with strong inside connections get in.

I must have sent about 50 applications to Athabasca, I got as close to an email that was sent after many tries with the typical "Your resume looks fantastic but the job was given to an internal person".

I tried also few times with Memorial University with no luck.

I applied to Canada West once but their salaries are similar to the American for profits that pay little.

Just to give you an idea, a online course at a real Canadian University pays about 10K. The same course at a for profit at the most 3K. No wonder the Union keeps the intruders out of the system.
