This bit of spam was so stupid that I just had to share with everyone. I banned the individual but thought it would be fun to remove the links and let the post appear.

I will use this opportunity to ask you a question. On most forums I go to I could click on the blah blah>blah blah 2> blah blah actual thread to get back to the parent forum but I don't see that option here. Every time I either have to click back, which doesn't work if I post, or click "Forum" which sends me too far back out. Am I missing something?

I'm having the same problem as JBJunior in regards to the website. I used to be able to navigate to sub forums via links at the top, bit it seems like the website layout has changed. I see where the links should, perhaps the banner ads have shifted the page and corresponding links?

 

I'm so happy to see an obvious spammer post appear, especially when newer members have posts 'held up' for two or so days until it clears inspection. I think I've just made my last effort to contribute anything here on this site (another thread.) This is spam prevention at the expense of alienating new people who could possibly become valued members. I can only imagine how many others just gave up and went away. But then, perhaps that is the intention.

 

At least it isn't just me....

I have no idea about that one. That's something to email the owner, Chip, directly about.

 

So I think I fixed my earlier complaint by changing the quick style choose setting on the bottom left of my page from the DI default option to the vB4 default option. I don't know what the differences between them are, except with the new default style I can navigate the subforums/threads through links at the top like I used to do. I don't know if anyone else besides JBjunior and I were having this problem, but that's how I fixed it.

 

Sounds like you're describing the same problem I have.

 

Hmmm. The thread navigation thing you're talking about is called "bread crumbs" and for some reason, they do not seem to be turned on. I will look into what's necessary to get them turned on.

 

That worked for me too. Go to the bottom left of this page, look for a box marked "DI Default" or "Quick Style Chooser", and reset it to "vB4 Default Style".
