I want to pursue a career as an actuary. I am having trouble finding an accredited online school to pursue this degree/career with. I would even be willing to settle for just a math degree to start with but would rather not pursue a degree as a math teacher. Could anyone help share some online schools that would help me pursue this? Thanks alot!
The University of Illinois at Springfield offers an online BA in math. It's actually a BA completion program; students are expected to get the first two years of undergraduate coursework (including calculus and introductory programming ) elsewhere (like at a community college), then transfer in the credits, then complete the more advanced math coursework through UIS. Their careers page doesn't reference actuaries specifically, but it does mention careers in insurance. It also states that their graduates have worked gone on to work for the Illinois Department of Insurance and the John Deere Life Insurance Co.
I am sorry for asking this. But could you point to an online community college where I can take those undergraduate classes? I am using google but all types of confusing and conflicting information comes up... Anyone know of good online schools I could take these classes and then transfer then to springfield of Illinois? I know I will have to verify with the college whether there accepted or not, but if you guys could throw some out there it would help me a bunch! Thanks so much!
Begin by looking at LSU LSU Independent and Distance Learning You can accelerate or decelerate course completion. Plus, it's a very good price.
