Working in DL

After about 10 years working in regular universities, I am considering making a move into DL, partly to give me more flexibility in where I live and work. (I'd like to move back to Germany, but regular faculty openings there are few and far between - unless, so it seems, you are a medic/scientist/engineer.) However, I'm afraid I don't have much of a clue about how to find work in DL. Certainly, I have hardly ever seen job ads for DL faculty. So, I'd be grateful for any pointers from people who know the market better than I do. Is this actually a realistic career option? Is there the work out there and, if so, how would I find out about it?

    Many thanks,
    DrAW

    1. See the thread on adjunctopia.com that I started here a few days ago.

    2. See the article references on Kennedy-Western that Gert posted today. Decide if you would consider this sort of school. Note that their DL faculty seem to earn $2 to $3,000 a year.

    3. Buy or check out of library 14th edition of Bears' Guide. Using subject index, identify all the relevant schools in Chapter 18 and 19 (and, if the Kennedy-Western sort doesn't turn you off, Chapters 21 and 22 as well). Check websites. Write traditional job application letters.
